Yesterday I got my new camera! It's a Canon EOS Rebel T3~ It's so beautiful! <3
For wintersession, I'm taking an intaglio course! I had a dilemma the first week of wintersession sitting in on the class. I had originally been enrolled in a painting class, seeing as the course covered groundwork to acrylic painting and I thought it would aid me next semester in the Spring for my painting studio. I pretty much fell in love with printmaking course and because several people did not show up, I was able to add the class! The class really emphasizes the technical aspects of printmaking but since my teacher is a cool second year grad in the major, he also encourages all of us to get creative and challenge the boundaries of the aesthetics of intaglio.
I'll take photos of my first three prints and plates when I get a chance this week but right now I'm trying to do an aquatint of a piece I did in high school, the Cloud factory. I simplified some of the factory's initial designs, hoping to play more with tone this time and not relying so heavily on the line as I did in my first few plate designs. Since the course allows us so much freedom and access to the printmaking major's facilities, I figure this week I would make and experiment with more prints!
