Over the course of this semester, I'm gradually improving with figure drawing which is really nice to see. I kept changing mediums though and found that after all this time of using charcoal and conte, I really just like the appeal of graphite. Also my professor had constantly told me that I go too dark too fast with conte crayon so had suggested I used vine charcoal. I found vine too messy to deal with, however.

SideNotes: Don't be hasty
"Gryffindor," Clarke barked from the end of the third floor corridor.
It was past noon and the hallways were swarming with students hastening to their next class. By now, the other Gryffindors knew well enough the Slytherin wasn't addressing them and kept on walking.
The Gryffindor he was addressing was Arthur Bennett, who stood opposite him in the corridor, several feet down where he was almost could drown out the Slytherin's booming cry with the chit chat about him. He sighed, stopped walking and turned around, glaring hard at Clarke.
"What?!"
"Come over here!"
"Go away, Slytherin! You have terrible timing! I have to get to class!" he yelled back as loudly as he could. Others started to bump into him and he threw his arm back to avoid another one from knocking his books over. Arthur huffed and turned his heel and started merging with the crowd.
Clarke panicked when he saw the brunette walk away and pushed his way forward. He jumped up and hoisted himself up briefly upon two Ravenclaw's shoulders.
"Go out with me!"
Everyone stopped in the corridor and stared at the Slytherin.
Arthur choked and flushed bright red.
"What?!"

So.. this is how I imagine Clarke would ask out Arthur if they ever got to that point which is NEVER. Buwahahaha...haha.

Monday the 23rd
Oh woe is me! I've become rather distracted lately and have been slightly behind schedule with my studio works. I went to class two hours late as I was desperately trying to finish up a painting. I managed to detail a lot of areas but did not render the background. The teacher and my classmates however provided me with a very agreeable critique. My teacher overall loved the composition so I'm happy 8)

Refrain (preview)
Clarke looked at the girl in annoyance. He leaned back against the cushions of the armchair and coughed loudly.
"Sya, let's duel."
"Are you mad, Walker? Not right now." Her eyes remained glued to her book.
"Come on, no one will know."
"Someone always knows," Sya waved her hand about in the air and pointed her finger at him from across the common room. "And you always pay."
Clarke grunted.
"Besides," she folded one of the pages she fingered, "I have more important things to do."
Clarke sighed and reached into the sleeve of his cloak, retrieving his wand. With a flick of the wrist, Sya's
textbook dropped to the ground.
"You're unbearable, Walker! Pester someone else!"
"Come on, fight me. Then I'll leave you be to your important matters and whatnot."
"You'll win as you always do and I'm just a sort of pawn in this twisted game to boost your ego. Sounds fantastic."
"I wouldn't ask if you'd didn't stand a bit of a chance," he remarked, staring in no particular direction.
"Is that supposed to be a compliment? Honestly, you're suffocating me. You're usually bothering First years or was it Ravenclaws in particular that you were quite fond of bullying? Not anymore, hm?"
Clarke found his shoes rather interesting.
"Oh, what's this? The great Clarke Walker at loss for words? Cute. Really." Sya walked over to where he sat and patted him once upon the cheek.
"Stop changing the subject," Clarke growled, pushing her hand away. He shifted on the cushions so he could sit up straight. He glanced down and rolled his wand about between his index finger and his thumb.
"Fine, let's duel if it'll make you less of a prick," Sya walked to the door and beckoned him to follow, "Come on, I know a place."

Flight (preview)
That boy ruined all this classes for him.
In astronomy, he was ridiculed in front of everyone for drawing his star chart wrong. In potions, it was his inaccurate preparation of the ingredients. In Transfiguration, the boy's taunting caused him to flinch and leave a rat in partial transformation. In Herbology, it was how slowly he harvested the puffapods. In charms, it was the swish and flick of his wand. And lastly, in defense of the dark arts, it was his dueling.
But there was one thing Arthur was better at. And that was flying.

SideNotes: Remedy for Uncertainty
The potion the two were brewing was the Shrinking Solution in which Third Years had to learn in potions class. The ingredients consist of minced daisy roots, peeled Shrivelfig, sliced caterpillars, a single rat spleen, and a small amount of leech juice.
Clarke thinks Arthur was scared of the caterpillars and so hesitated but it was his presence that scared the crap out of him.
The two were having a session after class at night to brew potions for homework. The two took the longest and so were the only remaining students in the classroom. Actually, Clarke is rather good at potions and only stalled his stay seeing Arthur have so much trouble with the recipe.
